Vigil of Pentecost...a Most Beautiful Mass of the Holy Spirit!!!

For those who could not attend Holy Spirit Catholic Church in San Antonio or any other Pentecost Vigil in any other city...

Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller presided and gave a great homily:

--Rivers of Living Water he referenced from the Gospel...Rivers of living water will flow from within him who believes in me” John 7:37-39

--This occurred at the First Pentecost when tongues of fire came upon Mary and the Disciples of Christ...

As that First Pentecost, the Holy Spirit gave courage to the Apostles to proclaim the Gospel...

--On this feast of Pentecost 2023, the Holy Spirit is still working among us...(1990 years later assuming 33 A.D.)

--Due to the Holy Spirit, we are begetting a closer relationship with the Holy Trinity...

--Persevering in this newness will bring us ultimate joy in heaven...

--We must open ourselves to prayer as we continue our Christian lives...

--Where can we share our gifts in the Church as we must use them to build up the Body of Christ...

--And the Holy Spirit will help us to discern our vocations...

--One instance of the Holy Spirit acting in the Church is through RCIA, helping individuals to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church...

--As Pope Francis has stated, "The Holy Spirit changes hearts"...That real change is a metanoia, a total change of heart and mind toward God...

--And this action of the Holy Spirit can be felt in our Catholic ministries...

--Also, the Holy Spirit helps us to be a priestly people, especially through prayer...In fact, the Holy Spirit will "wake us up!" and inspire us to spread the Good News...And sometimes, we need a jolt or bolt from the Holy Spirit!

--Additionally, the Holy Spirit helps us to carry out God's will thus strengthening the Church...the community of the Body of Christ...

In the end, only the Holy Spirit can truly change and convert our world and allow us to make God's will our will...A new Pentecost has been given us by God in all things for His reign of Love...

We ask Our Lady of Guadalupe to help us live by the power of the Holy Spirit to build up humanity!!!
